Sky Sports understands former Rangers striker Kyle Lafferty is undergoing a medical at Palermo.
As revealed by Sky Sports earlier this week, Lafferty is believed to have accepted a three-year contract with Palermo to link up with former Rangers midfielder and new Palermo boss Gennaro Gattuso.
Lafferty left Rangers last summer as a result of their financial problems and made the move to Swiss side Sion.
The Northern Ireland international scored eight goals in 28 appearances for Sion working under Gattuso and the Italian was keen to be reunited with the 25-year-old in Sicily.
Palermo have targeted Lafferty as the man to spearhead their bid for promotion back to Serie A next season and will become Gattuso's first signing since taking charge of the club.
