Lee Mair has been told he is free to leave St Mirren, but he intends to fight for his future at the SPL outfit.
Among a group of players deemed surplus to requirements by boss Danny Lennon, Mair has been informed that he can look for a new club.
The 32-year-old is in no rush to leave, though, and is planning to stick around.
He still has a year left to run on his current contract and is determined to prove his worth to Lennon in 2013/14.
Mair said: "The last few months of the season were frustrating.
"I'm still good enough to play for Saints. The decision to let me find a new club is the gaffer's decision, but he's there to make decisions.
"I don't agree with it, but I respect his decision. I'm not the type to throw the toys out the pram. The way I see it, challenges are there to be met and this is just another to deal with.
"I'm happy at St Mirren and in no rush to leave."
