Rami Gershon says he is now ready to show supporters why Celtic manager Neil Lennon signed him from Standard Liege in the January transfer window.

The Israel centre-half has seen his chance of making an impact stalled by two spells on the treatment table.

Having made an impressive scoring debut away to Inverness Caledonian Thistle in February, he was forced to wait until last weekend to make his second outing in a Hoops jersey as the champions-elect suffered a 3-2 reversal to Ross County.

Gershon lasted just over an hour of the game in Dingwall before being withdrawn and he told the Celtic View: "I've had a bit of bad luck since I came as I've had two small injuries that took me two weeks to recover from, so this put me on the back foot.

"But now I'm starting to get fit. The most important thing for me is to stay fit as the two games I've played is very far from what I can do in terms of my skills. But I'm sure I can come back to the level I know I'm capable of.

"I feel good. I need more confidence that comes with playing more minutes and then I am sure I can come back to the Rami I know.

"I can give you a lot of excuses now - a new country, a different style of football and injuries - but no one cares about that. I have to take my chances and be good all the time. This is how I think. And this is the goal I have in my head now."
