Sky Sports understands St Johnstone have secured the services of Ross County midfielder Richard Brittain on a pre-contract agreement.
The 29-year-old will remain with Ross County for the remainder of the season before joining their Scottish Premier League rivals in the summer.
Brittain started out his career with Livingston before joining St Mirren in the summer of 2006 and then moving on to his current employers two years' later.
St Johnstone boss Steve Lomas has moved for Brittain despite accusing him of 'cheating' during the game with Ross County in September.
Saints boss Lomas spoke out after the 2-1 win in Dingwall on September 22, in which striker Rowan Vine was red-carded following a collision with Brittain.
Lomas was handed a suspended two-match suspension for his comments, but has clearly made peace with Brittain.
