Dundee midfielder Kevin McBride insists the Dens Park squad have the attributes to recover from a poor start to the campaign.
Barry Smith's men are rooted at the foot of the table on just four points following their return to the top flight following their seven-year absence.
The Dark Blues appear to have suffered from the delay in confirming their place in the Scottish Premier League after a summer of uncertainty as Rangers were placed in liquidation.
But McBride believes there is enough quality in the Dundee squad to turn the situation around and move the team up the league.
"There are strong characters in the dressing room and it's time to stick together," the 31-year-old said.
"We're prepared to roll our sleeves up and di deep for each other. The bottom line is that we are ready to fight for the cause."
