Shaun Hutchinson: Defender set to make return from injury
Motherwell defender Shaun Hutchinson is set to return from injury in the pre-season game with Hamilton on Tuesday night.
Hutchinson has been sidelined with a groin problem but has returned to training and could now be set for a full run-out.
The 21-year old has been carrying the injury since last season, but it was decided that he did not need an operation.
It's a timely return for manager Stuart McCall, who lost centre-backs Stephen Craigan and Tim Clancy in the summer, whilst Jonathan Page and Steven Saunders have already been ruled out of next week's UEFA Champions League opener against Panathinaikos.
McCall told MFCTV: "Hopefully Shaun Hutchinson and Bob McHugh will get a part of the game against Hamilton
"They both came through training today unscathed so we'll be looking for them to kick on."
It means that Hutchinson can fulfil his dream of playing Champions league football, something he was worried the injury may deny him.
"I've had a couple of sleepless nights thinking I might miss the opportunity," he told the Daily Record earlier this month.
"If I missed the Champions League games I would be devastated."
