Fears as players set to be axed by administrators

Charlie Adam admits his brother Grant is in danger of being sacked at Rangers, due to their on-going financial issues. Adam's brother, 20, is a reserve goalkeeper at Ibrox but with reports suggesting up to 11 players could be axed from the playing staff this week, he is one of those rumoured to be in-line to leave. And Adam senior, who was on international duty for Scotland on Wednesday, admits it is a tough time.

Difficult

"The only person I am interested in is my brother, he is my brother and that is the important thing, he might lose his job and it is going to be difficult," he told Sky Sports. "But the rest of it is nothing to do with me, I cannot affect what is happening or what has gone on before, that is the situation they are in and that is how we have to deal with it, I am not getting involved what I say is not going to make a difference." Rangers were put into administration last month, and their administrators are set to make drastic cuts to staff - which looks set include several players. Both Sasa Papac and Dorin Goian admit they are worried. "It is unbelievable but it shows that bankruptcy can happen to any club. We continue to play as if nothing has happened but it is difficult," said Papac. "We have to wait and see what the administrators do. Their job is to clear Rangers' debts, which means the club could lose a lot of players as they are well paid - too well for the situation the club is in. "Any one of the players could go now for the good of the club's financial health. I know I have no chance of getting another contract or at least certainly not one at my existing level.
Unclear
"All I can do is try to ignore the situation as no one has told me what the exact position is yet. "I don't know what club I will go to because I have been here now for many years. I'll go on a holiday, that's for sure!" Goian added: "My future is unclear. I don't want to return to Romanian football yet and I don't want to sign for a club in China, like my brother Lucian. "I want to stay in Glasgow as I have two young children and it would be difficult to move the entire family twice in the one year. It's very worrying."
