Brisbane Roar have ruled out a bid to re-sign Rangers midfielder Matt McKay just a few months after the midfielder moved to Ibrox.

Gers midfielder would reportedly be keen to rejoin former club

Brisbane Roar have ruled out a bid to bring Rangers midfielder Matt McKay back to the club just a few months after the midfielder moved to Ibrox. McKay joined the Gers on a three-year contract last August, but has made only three SPL appearances for the reigning champions. The Australia international has not featured since November and was reportedly the subject of enquiries from clubs in Saudi Arabia and South Korea during the January transfer window. A-League side Brisbane have been tipped to re-sign the 29-year-old, but coach Ange Postecoglou says the club are not prepared to pay a fee to Rangers.

Speculate

"He (McKay) won't be coming to Brisbane Roar," Postecoglou told the Australian media. "He wasn't (coming) last week and he's not (coming) this week. "The last time I spoke to Matt he was keen, but it's not his decision, it's down to his club. "His club says they won't sell him or loan him out without a fee and we're not interested in that. "I said that last week and nothing's changed since. People can speculate as much as they like but I'm not in the habit of lying and what I said last week stands."
