Hoops frontman sidelined with knee injury

Celtic have received an injury blow following news that Mohamed Bangura will miss the remainder of the season. The Sierra Leone frontman had a scan on his right knee which revealed the need for an immediate operation which could now see Bangura spend up to four months on the sidelines. Celtic manager Neil Lennon bought the 22-year-old in July from AIK Solna but the striker has made only 14 appearances so far this campaign. Bangura has been regarded as a long-term prospect at Celtic Park but will now have a prolonged wait to stake his claim for a regular starting place following his latest setback. "He had a scan and it revealed he needed the surgery," boss Lennon said. "The surgery was a success but he will be out for 12 to 16 weeks. "It is unfortunate for him and possibly the reason he hasn't recaptured his form, maybe it was hampering him a little bit." Lennon's side travel to Inverness on Saturday as they look to stay on track for a league and cup double.
