Killie boss on look-out for a defender after releasing Berntsson & Ada

Kilmarnock boss Kenny Shiels is set to dip into the transfer market for a defender after releasing Billy Berntsson and Patrick Ada from the club during the week. Berntsson, 27, has returned to Sweden where he has linked up with Hammarby after finding his first-team chances limited to just four substitute appearances since signing for the club a year ago, while Ada has made just three starts since joining from Crewe in the summer. The loss of the defensive duo means that the club will hope to bring in at least one new face in the next few weeks. "We have had a couple leave this week," said Shiels. "Billy Berntsson and Pat Ada have left the club so we are trying to free something up."
