Midfielder commits future to McDiarmid Park side

St Johnstone midfielder Kevin Moon has expressed his delight at signing a new contract with the high-flying SPL club. The 24-year-old had been due to be out of contract in the New Year, although he has now penned a fresh 18-month deal. There is also a one-year option in place and Moon insists that he was always going to be staying with his hometown club. Fourth-placed Saints thrashed Dunfermline on Christmas Eve and Moon insists his new contract caps a week to remember.

Delighted

"I was delighted to get the new contract sorted out," he told the Daily Record. "You try and concentrate on your football, but it's in the back of your mind whether you want it or not. "Getting three points meant it was a great couple of days for me and long may it continue. I love it here, I'm settled and we are going so well at the moment. "It was never in doubt that I'd be staying. It was just a matter of getting it all sorted."
