Edinburgh club are struggling to keep on top of wages
Hearts have announced they will play the remainder of their players' salaries "as soon as possible" after 33 players received payments.
This is the second month in succession the players at the Edinburgh club have been paid late, as they should have received their November salaries on Wednesday.
A statement on the club's
official website read: "More than half of the Hearts squad has been paid and we will pay the remaining players as soon as practically possible."
Hearts have admitted they are trying to "obtain funding" after settling a tax bill of more than one million with Her Majesty's Revenue and Customs on Tuesday.
Senior squad members were forced to wait for 19 days before they received last month's overdue wages, which they eventually pocketed on November 4th.
Hearts players were said to be extremely disappointed about the situation and had to be persuaded by their manager Paulo Sergio not to make a complaint to the Scottish Premier League.
