Michael Higdon has revealed Crawley Town were among the clubs to show an interest before he opted for a move to Motherwell.
The striker rejected a new deal at St Mirren in favour of joining SPL rivals Motherwell on a two-year contract earlier this summer.
The former Crewe Alexandra man had several options to consider, including an offer from Football League new boys Crawley Town, however, he stressed money was not in a factor in his final decision.
"I didn't have a club before the last game of the season at St Mirren," said Higdon. "They made me an offer but I was waiting for other clubs to see what was best for my family.

"I wanted to stay in Scotland for family reasons because my little girl is starting school in August, so I'm not going to uproot her to go live in London or wherever. That's not fair.
"The grass isn't always greener on the other side. That's why I was prepared to come here.
"Stuart McCall phoned and sold the club to me and I got a good deal here so I'm happy.
"Sometimes you're best staying where you're happy. I had a lot of offers from down south. I could have made a lot more money for myself going down there.
"I decided to stay for family reasons, though. I enjoy living where I live and it's not always about money but Crawley were one of a few teams interested."
