Hearts winger undergoes knee operation

Hearts winger Suso Santana will miss the final four matches of the season after undergoing knee surgery. The news was confirmed by manager Jim Jefferies on Thursday following the decision after the Spaniard has been carrying the injury for some time. Santana could have gone for an operation several weeks ago, but the decision was delayed as the Edinburgh-based club consolidated an almost certain third-placed finish in the Scottish Premier League. Jefferies said: "A couple of weeks ago he was supposed to go for an operation. "He felt he could maybe play on. "The more he's tried it, the more damage he's caused - the result was he went for an operation yesterday."

Webster fitness

Jefferies was also positive over the fitness of defender Andy Webster, who went off at half-time in their 3-3 draw with Motherwell with a groin strain. "He went for a scan earlier in the week. It didn't show anything," he added. "He's not trained in the early part of the week. We'll keep our fingers crossed he'll be okay (for Saturday's match against Kilmarnock)."
