Striker could take in second spell at New Douglas Park

Hamilton boss Billy Reid is considering whether to offer Mickael Antoine-Curier a second spell at the club. The Guadeloupe international scored eight goals for the Accies last season during a productive loan from Dundee. However, a knee problem curtailed him over the second half of the campaign and he was among those made redundant at Dundee when the club entered administration in October. Since then he has been training with Hamilton in an effort to build his fitness and prove his worth to potential new employers. Reid admits he could offer Antoine-Curier a full-time contract, but claims there are a number of issues which need to be ironed out first. "I'm a big admirer of Mickael-Antoine Curier," he said. "He did very well for me then picked up his injury. "He has not played for quite some time which is a wee cause for concern. We need to make sure his knee is fine. "He has had a condo lesion in his knee which is difficult for him. We've got to make sure things are right before we reach that stage."

Strengthen

Reid is in a position to add to his squad after seeing Jim Goodwin leave for St Mirren, Derek Lyle released and Jon Routledge return to parent club Wigan. He hopes an extension to Routledge's loan can still be agreed, but admits he will also be looking for new recruits elsewhere. "We've cleared the decks a wee bit so we're obviously looking to strengthen," Reid said. "I know exactly what I need, I've taken in some games down south as well. "If we can get them in straight away that would be fine but it's not as easy as that. We have a few weeks to do that."
