Miller free to face Dons after winning red card appeal

Hibernian manager Colin Calderwood has expressed his delight at the SFA's decision to overturn Liam Miller's red card. The former Sunderland and QPR man was dismissed for kicking the heels of Kilmarnock striker Conor Sammon in last weekend's 2-1 defeat. After a lengthy delay for deliberations over whether the foul was inside or outside the box, referee Craig Thomson consulted his assistant and the fourth official before Miller was sent off. However, upon appeal the offence has now been downgraded to a caution meaning Miller will be free to play against Aberdeen on Boxing Day. Calderwood is delighted justice has prevailed and naturally pleased to have the 29-year-old available to face Craig Brown's side. "We are pleased to have Liam available for selection," he told the club's official website. "We felt it was right to contest the decision and we are pleased with the verdict reached by the SFA."
