Keeper takes heart from call-up to USA squad

Celtic goalkeeper Dominic Cervi has expressed his frustration at his failure to make a first-team appearance since moving to Parkhead. The American joined Celtic in 2009, but is still waiting for his competitive debut after being earmarked as one for the future. The 24-year-old is disappointed he is yet to feature for the Bhoys, but has taken heart from his call-up to the USA squad for last week's game against South Africa. He told the Celtic View: "It's frustrating because I'm in every day working hard and I know you can't just walk straight into the Celtic team, but at the same time you want games and you don't want to be sitting on the bench. "I'm coming in every day and I've been keeping my head down and working hard. You don't know if anyone's noticing and then all of a sudden this comes along and it's really gratifying. "I had no idea I was even on their radar so now that I know I am it has raised my confidence a little bit. It was a huge compliment and it's nice to know the hard work isn't going unnoticed. "I try to keep plugging away and hopefully this is the start of good things for me."
