Kilmarnock manager Mixu Paatelainen has revealed discussions have begun over a new deal for Cameron Bell.
The goalkeeper has been at Rugby Park since 2003 but his current contract expires at the end of the season.
Paatelainen is desperate to tie him down to fresh terms and is happy that the 24-year-old wants to commit his future to the club.
"We're talking to Cammy and both parties are willing to extend his stay," said Paatelainen in the Daily Record.
"It's important we keep him."
Bell has established himself as No.1 at Killie this season with a string of impressive performances and made his first Scotland appearance in the victory over Faroe Islands last season.
Goalkeeping rival Alan Combe missed much of last term through injury but is now back in training following a double-hernia operation in August.
