Out-of-favour defender playing on Wednesday

Rangers manager Walter Smith has confirmed Andy Webster will be given a chance to shine against Kilmarnock. Webster spent last season on loan with Dundee United and helped the club win the Scottish Cup against Ross County. The experienced defender is now back at Ibrox, but is yet to start a league game for the SPL champions. David Weir and Madjid Bougherra are the club's preferred centre-half pairing, although Webster will have a chance to stake his claim at Rugby Park. "This is the longest spell he has had fit but unfortunately for him the team has been playing exceptionally well and it's difficult for him to get a regular game," said Smith. "He will get an opportunity in this game. "We want to go into all our games and be as successful as we can be. Even though we have a smaller group, we want to win games. We've got enough players to make changes and do well."
