Hearts manager Jim Jefferies insists he has not written off Darren Barr after dropping him for their weekend defeat to Motherwell.
The former Falkirk man has been blamed for some defensive mistakes of late, culminating in his eventual axe from the starting XI.
By no means is Jefferies giving up on Barr and insists he will continue to work with the defender in a bid to restore self-confidence.
Jefferies has been unhappy with Barr's decision-making at the back, but is backing the 25-year-old Glaswegian to come good.
Not given up
"I pulled Darren aside after I had named the team on Saturday and told him I certainly wasn't giving up on him, far from it," he told the Evening News.
"He hasn't been discarded or anything like that.
"He's come in here feeling he has something to prove but, in trying to do that, I think it's a case of him not thinking clearly and not making the right decisions.
"But we will work with him and get it right."
