Goalkeeper Mark Howard has joined Aberdeen ahead of the new season after leaving St Mirren.

The Londoner started his career at Arsenal and then had spells with Falkirk, Cardiff and Swansea before ending up with the Buddies.

He joins new signings Rory McArdle and Josh Magennis at Pittodrie.

Howard will compete with Jamie Langfield for the No.1 jersey after Stuart Nelson left and joined Notts County.

St Mirren have signed cover in the form of goalkeeper Craig Samson on a one-year deal from Ayr United.
