St Johnstone striker Collin Samuel has ended doubts about his future by signing a new one-year contract.

The Trinidad & Tobago international scored five goals in 27 SPL appearances this season, but he missed two months due to a knee injury.

His contract was due to expire in the summer, but the 28-year-old has agreed to stay in Perth, much to manager Derek McInnes' delight.

McInnes told the club's official website: "I'm delighted we have managed to get Sammy sorted out so quickly.

"He and I have been disappointed and frustrated by the injury problems he has had, but we are confident those are behind him now - in many ways the season has come to an end just at the wrong time for him.

"However, we know what he is capable of and saw glimpses of it in the season just ended - a fully fit Sammy has the pace and power and the ability to score goals at SPL level."
