Motherwell youngster Tom Hateley is optimistic he can agree a new contract to stay at Fir Park beyond the end of the season.
Hateley, who has played in midfield and at right-back for Well, is out of contract in the summer and has enjoyed his debut campaign with the SPL club.
Keith Lasley and Stephen Craigan this week followed Stevie Hammell in extending their contracts and Hateley wants to do the same.
"I'm 20 and I want to just keep playing games," the former Reading trainee said. "When I came here I said I just wanted to come and develop and just play games.
"That's exactly what Motherwell have given me the opportunity to do. I can't thank them any more.
"Every young footballer wants to play in the English Premier League, but I definitely wouldn't say no to staying here.
"We're talking at the moment and hopefully we'll get things sorted out in the next couple of weeks."
