Full-back focused on getting fit

Gary Naysmith wants to stay at Sheffield United, but insists his priority is returning to full fitness. The Scotland international has not played for the Blades since suffering a cruciate ligament injury towards the end of last season. The full-back is hoping to return to action next month and his sights are set on earning an extension to his deal, which expires in the summer. However, the 31-year-old understands that manager Kevin Blackwell may delay any talks regarding a new contract until the campaign is over. "The only thing I'm concentrating on is getting fit," Naysmith told the Sheffield Star. "My deal is up soon and I've always maintained I want to stay here. Nothing has changed. "I also appreciate the club is not going to do anything with regards contracts until the end of the season when we know what division we're in, which is fair enough. "I still think I've got a lot to contribute."
