Striker to hang up boots next month

Swedish legend Henrik Larsson has confirmed he will retire at the end of the season. Larsson has confirmed he will finally hang up his boots when the Swedish Allsvenska campaign finishes in November The former Celtic and Barcelona star announced his international retirement last week following their failure to qualify for next summer's World Cup finals. "I know now that I am 100 per cent sure about my decision to stop," said Larsson. "I am 38 now and that's enough. "I will think over what I will do next. Most of all I need some time to adjust to life after football." Helsingborg's director of sport Jesper Jansson admits they hoped Larsson would play on for another year, but respect his decision to quit after an illustrious career. "We at HIF had obviously hoped Sweden's greatest player down the years would play on for another season," Jansson told the club's official website. "But we respect Henrik's decision and are incredibly grateful for everything he has done and proud to have been a part of his fantastic career." Larsson's final game for Helsingborg will be the clash at Elfsborg on 1st November.
