Aberdeen defender Zander Diamond is set to undergo further surgery on his long-standing ankle injury.
The 24-year-old has been out of action since sustaining the problem in the defeat to Celtic in August.
Aberdeen have been unable to identify the full extent of the setback and Diamond hopes going under the knife will finally cure the injury.
"Hopefully, the surgery will fix the problem and get me back playing again," said Diamond.
"They tell me I'll be out for another four to six weeks and I'd take that if it means the problem is solved.
"I just needed some kind of platform to work from after so long not knowing what was happening."
