Lee McCulloch believes he still has a future with Rangers following talks with manager Walter Smith.
The former Wigan man was believed to be available for transfer with Gers keen to reduce their squad size and wage bill.
McCulloch, who is two years into a four-year contract, is pleased to be staying despite failing to secure regular first-team football last season.
The 31-year-old is now relishing the challenge of helping defend Gers' SPL title.
"It's looking as though I'll be staying at the club and that's something I'm happy about," he told the club's official website.
"Last season was quite hard for me because I was in and out of the team a lot but I thought I did all right when I did play.
"Obviously you want to be playing more football than I did last season but I've spoken to the manager and everything seemed to go well.
"I'm looking forward to the challenge of playing again this season because it's a massive season for us all."
