May wants striker to make an impact this season

Falkirk striker Mark Stewart has signed a new contract to stay with the SPL club until 2011. Stewart, who scored three goals last season, has become the latest player to pledge his long-term future to the Bairns. New Falkirk boss Eddie May is now looking for the 21-year-old to make an impact in his plans during the coming season. "I spoke to Mark regarding an extension to his contract and the deal was agreed within minutes," May told the club's official website. "He was delighted to extend his stay here and we were delighted to be able to offer him this extension. "He has some outstanding attributes and is developing all the time as a player. "He will have a big part to play this season and I am sure he will thrive on the challenge of being increasingly involved with the first team."
