Midfielder eager to make his mark at Easter Road

Hibernian have confirmed the signing of midfielder Kevin McBride on a free transfer from Falkirk. Skysports.com revealed that McBride had agreed to follow former Falkirk boss John Hughes to Hibs following the end of his Bairns contract. McBride is understood to have secured a two-year deal at Easter Road and is relishing the chance to play for Hibs. "I have always been a great admirer of the way that Hibernian aim to play the game, and I can't wait now to get started as a Hibernian player," McBride told the club's official website. "The manager has certainly never hidden his own high regard for this club, now I'm just delighted to be here - I've already had a look at the training facilities and they are absolutely amazing." Hughes, who has also signed Patrick Cregg from Falkirk and Daniel Galbraith from Manchester United, is confident McBride will make a significant impact. "Kevin is enthusiastic, always available for training and games, and still has his best years ahead of him," said Hughes. "He's one of the bravest boys on the ball, and is not to be messed with on the park. He had a good grounding at Celtic as a youth, and his ability to link defence to midfield is second to none."
