Abbey and Daniel leave Gresty Road

Crewe Alexandra have parted ways with two more members of their first-team squad. Boss Gudjon Thordarson has already begun planning for life in League Two, following the club's relegation last season, by drastically culling his playing staff. Stuart Tomlinson, Chris McCready and Mark Carrington have been shown the door, while youngsters Josh Thompson and Luke Danville have been deemed surplus to requirements. Now defender George Abbey and Colin Daniel have also been allowed to leave the club. Abbey, who had a year to run on his current deal, has seen his contract cancelled by mutual consent, while Daniel, who is set to be out of contract in the summer, will not be offered an extension. Meanwhile, Julien Baudet has left Gresty Road after agreeing to join Major League Soccer outfit Colorado Rapids.
