Hearts defender Robbie Neilson is hoping to sort out his future before the end of the season.
Neilson's current contract is set to expire in the summer and he could leave the club on a free transfer.
Hearts boss Csaba Laszlo is keen to keep Neilson at Tynecastle and the Scottish international is planning to hold talks with majority shareholder Vladimir Romanov over a new deal in the next few weeks.
"My contract situation has been going on since last season," said Neilson.
"I've spoken to the manager and he's looking to keep me but it's not him that puts the contracts out, so I'll need to speak to Mr Romanov.
Early doors
"It's early doors. I spoke to the manager and he is looking to keep me."But the situation at Hearts is that it's not the manager that puts the contract out so I'll have to speak to Anatoli Korobochka, the sporting director, and Mr Romanov himself.
"We will wait and see what he's got to say. Hopefully he will be over in the next few weeks, I'd like to think he'd be over before the end of the season."
