Asamoah and Fagan sign deals

Hamilton have swooped to sign strikers Derek Asamoah and Christy Fagan on a short-term deals. The duo have been signed with the SPL outfit until the end of the season. 19-year-old Fagan was recently on trial at Huddersfield and impressed for their reserve side as he claimed a hat-trick on his debut. But the former Manchester United youngster has now moved north of the border to sign for Hamilton. Academical also pounced for Asamoah - who was released by French club Nice in January. The former Northampton, Mansfield, Lincoln and Shrewsbury man is looking to kick-start his British career at New Douglas Park. "With the current injury situation we needed to get some in and, hopefully, they can do enough to impress us between now and the end of the season to earn long-term deals," said Hamilton boss Billy Reid. "Derek has a lot of experience of English football while Chris has come through the ranks at Manchester United." Meanwhile, the club have released young Spanish striker Andreu Ramos Isus, after he broke his foot in training.
