Goodwillie, Kenneth, Robertson and Smith agree extensions

Four more Dundee United players have committed their long-term futures to the SPL outfit. Midfielder David Robertson and forward Kevin Smith, who would have been out of contract at the end of this season, have signed extensions until May 2011. Defender Garry Kenneth and striker David Goodwillie, who would have been out of contract at the end of next season, have also both committed their futures until May 2012. These extensions come after captain Lee Wilkie, fellow defender Sean Dillon and striker Jon Daly recently penned new deals at Tannadice, while defender Darren Dods has also agreed fresh terms, with the paperwork on his contract expected to be completed next week.

Important

Manager Craig Levein told the club's official website: "These signings are important and demonstrate our strategy for both the immediate and long term future of the club. "We're not only looking at contracts which expire at the end of this season, we're also looking to the future and making sure that our most promising younger players are secured on longer terms which are beneficial to them, and to Dundee United."
