Hamilton boss Billy Reid has no plans to withdraw teenage starlet James McCarthy from his first-team firing line.
The 17-year-old is expected to come under flak from Rangers fans on Tuesday at Ibrox for his decision to represent Republic of Ireland rather than Scotland.
However, Reid believes having to cope with abuse is part and parcel of the game and there is no chance will be weakening his starting XI to protect the midfielder.
"I certainly am not going to leave out one of my better players. He will go to Ibrox and it will be a fantastic occasion for him," Reid told the Daily Record.
"James will be looking to put in a big performance, similar to what he usually does.
"Getting stick is the nature of the beast in football so it doesn't affect me and it doesn't affect James either."
