Former Hearts defender Ibrahim Tall could join Nantes ahead of next season on a free transfer.
The Senegal international is now without a club after being released by Hearts at the end of last season.
And the 26-year-old, who is capable of playing at either centre-half or full-back, could bring experience to the Nantes side.
Nantes will play in Ligue 1 next season after earning promotion last term and the French outfit are hopeful this will convince ex-Sochaux player Tall to return to the continent.
Tall joined Hearts in 2005 and scored three goals in 39 games for the SPL side in his three-year stay.
