Dundee United boss Craig Levein believes Steven Robb needs to quit Tannadice and find a new club.
Levein has told Robb he is not part of his plans after failing to establish himself at United.
The former Dundee winger has seen his time at Tannadice blighted by injury and Levein feels it might suit both parties to go their separate ways.
"Our decision has nothing to do with Steven's ability. He's just had so many injuries that giving him a new deal won't help him," Levein told the Daily Record.
"He wants to play every week and we can't guarantee that. Steven will see what else is out there, but we'll keep the door open just in case."
