Hibernian manager Mixu Paatelainen has backed Steven Fletcher to establish himself in the Scotland side.
The striker has been in impressive form this season, scoring 14 goals in all competitions, and he was rewarded on Monday with a call-up to George Burley's first squad.
Paatelainen expects Fletcher to take his chance and shine in the friendly against Croatia next week.
He also believes the 20-year-old will go from strength to strength over the coming years and become a key figure for the national team.
"It's fantastic news that Steven has been called up for the full Scotland squad and hopefully he'll now get his debut and keep his place," Paatelainen said in the Daily Record.
"He'll get a great confidence boost from being included and an even bigger one should he play.
"He definitely deserved the call-up. He has worked really hard and has done well to get back on top form after an injury earlier in the season.
"But of course as a striker you need to score goals to make it into the national team and Steven has been scoring lots recently. You can't ignore that kind of form."
