Rangers have been hit by a major blow with the news striker Daniel Cousin faces a month on the sidelines after suffering a broken jaw.

The injury occurred in Thursday's impressive Uefa Cup win over Werder Bremen and he will now miss vital games both domestically and abroad.

Cousin, who had only just returned to Rangers' first-team after a protracted move to Fulham broke down when Fifa refused to authorise the transfer, as it would have meant him playing for a third club in the same season, has spoken of his disappointment.

He told the Scottish Sun: "This is the worst possible thing that could happen after breaking back into the team.

"Hopefully I'll get back as quickly as possible so I can help the team to win trophies."
