Sending off rescinded

Gregory Vignal has had the red card he picked up at Wolves in midweek rescinded. The French left-back was sent off eight minutes from time following a touchline clash with Sylvain Ebanks-Blake. Southampton appealed against the decision and the Football Association's regulatory commission has upheld their appeal. "I am very pleased that we will now have Gregory available for Saturday because he has been playing well," said Saints boss Nigel Pearson. "We felt we were well within our rights to put in an appeal and the staff have worked hard to prepare a good case and I am glad that common sense has prevailed." Vignal is now eligible to feature this weekend against Blackpool.
