Portugal international reveals Scottish interest

Panathinaikos striker Helder Postiga claims Rangers and Celtic were both keen on signing him. Postiga, who is currently on loan at Panathinaikos from Porto, says both of the Old Firm tried to lure him to Scotland, but the move failed to materialise. The Portuguese international will come up against Rangers in Wednesday's Uefa Cup clash and he claims if things had been different he might have been lining up for the Ibrox outfit.

Interest

"There was interest from both clubs but nothing came of it," Postiga told the Daily Record. The former Tottenham misfit is confident he can help Panathinaikos dump Rangers out of the Uefa Cup. "We're confident. This is a big match and it is 50-50 who plays in the next round," added Postiga. "We can go through if we avoid defeat in Glasgow."
