Warnock admits deal is now 'dead in the water'

Crystal Palace manager Neil Warnock has revealed that he tried to sign Dundee United goalkeeper Grzegorz Szamotulski, but without success. Szamotulski is out of contract at the end of this month and there have been rumours linking him with various clubs. Warnock was interested in the Polish international but accepts that a move is no longer likely to happen. "We were talking about him but I think a deal is now dead in the water," Warnock told the South London Press. The Scottish Premier League side are short of goalkeepeing options and were understood to be keen on a loan deal for Scott Flinders in return. Flinders rejected the temporary switch to Tannadice but Warnock admits the youngster could be loaned out elsewhere. He said: "I'll probably let Scott go out on loan because he needs games. But we'll only do month by month and have a 24-hour recall option."
