Hearts striker Mauricio Pinilla could be out for the rest of the season following his latest setback.
The Chilean international damaged knee ligaments in training this week and faces a lengthy period on the sidelines.
The 23-year-old is due to consult a specialist in London on Thursday and if surgery is required, he will not play again this season.
The Chilean scored twice in four outings for Hearts last term but has only made two substitute appearances in the SPL this season after spending August and part of September in a Spanish clinic suffering from depression.
He had previously sustained a wrist injury in July back in his native Chile following a loan spell away from Tynecastle.
