Derby have suspended defender Bob Malcolm after he was charged by police with a drink driving offence.

Derby have suspended defender Bob Malcolm after he was charged by police with a drink driving offence. The charge relates to an alleged incident on the M1 motorway in Derbyshire on Thursday morning. He has been bailed to appear before Chesterfield Magistrates Court on 16th January, while Derby will now be conducting their own internal investigation into the matter. For legal reasons, Derby are making no further comment pending the findings of the investigation and outcome of the court hearing. Malcolm joined Derby from Rangers in the summer of 2006, but has made just 14 appearances for the club. He was sent out on loan to Queens Park Rangers last month on a deal which ends on 1st January.
