Hibernian expect to be without Steven Fletcher for six weeks due to an ankle injury.
Fletcher was hurt during Saturday's 1-1 draw with Falkirk and was replaced by Mickael Antoine-Curier after just 22 minutes.
The young striker is now likely to be sidelined until into the New Year, with Hibs boss John Collins lamenting the injury.
"It is not looking very good unfortunately," said Collins. "It is looking like a bad one, it might be a chipped bone.
"It was his ankle, which is bad news.
"Fletcher is a key player, he has been outstanding for us this season and, of course, it is a blow.
"It is part and parcel of football and it happens at most clubs, we just have to deal with it."
The Scotland Under 21 international, who recently signed a new contract until 2013 at Easter Road, has scored seven goals in 16 SPL appearances this season.
