Dundee United striker Jon Daly has been ruled out for two months, just two games into his comeback from a lengthy lay-off.
Daly had been out for six months with a knee injury before returning to the United team earlier this month.
However, he lasted just 24 minutes of Saturday's 2-2 draw at Hibernian before being taken off with an ankle injury.
He will now be out until the New Year, leaving Tannadice chief Craig Levein in an attacking quandary.
"Jon has damaged his ankle ligaments and when that happens sometimes little bits of the bone can come away too," said Levein in the Daily Record.
"It's disappointing for him and it gives me a problem too as we don't have too many strikers, so that's something I'll have to think about."
