Scotland midfielder Scott Brown accepts Saturday's game with Italy brings with it pressure he has never previously experienced.
An expectant Scottish public will be praying for a victory against the world champions at Hampden; a result which would book their passage to Austria and Switzerland.
Celtic's Brown has been one of several outstanding performers for Alex McLeish's men in a campaign that has already exceeded all expectations.
Brown has played in several high-profile domestic games in the past, but he is quick to acknowledge the encounter against Italy represents the biggest date in Scottish football for the past 10 years.
"I must admit, this one does feel a bit different," he told the Daily Record.
"If we win we qualify so it would be the biggest result Scotland has had in the last 10 years.
"Everyone wants us to go through and that puts a lot of pressure on us to perform and do well.
"I've never been under pressure like this before.
"Obviously there was pressure when I played in the CIS Cup final with Hibs but it wasn't pressure like this!"
