Defender suffers hip injury on first start

Kilmarnock defender Tim Clancy could be sidelined for up to eight weeks with a hip injury. Clancy joined the SPL club on a 12-month contract in the summer, having originally linked up with Jim Jefferies' side earlier in the year. He was handed his first start for Killie in Saturday's 0-0 draw with St Mirren and played the 90 minutes at Rugby Park. But his outing came at a price after Clancy suffered a torn cartilage in his hip during the game. The former Millwall youngster is now expected to be out for between six and eight weeks as Jefferies encounters more injury problems.
