Alex McLeish has called Barry Robson into the Scotland squad for the first time.
The Dundee United midfielder has been rewarded with a place in the party for next week's game with South Africa.
Scotland coach McLeish has selected a mix of youth and experience for the friendly on 22nd August at Pittodrie.
Among the players to be rested for the match are captain Barry Ferguson, David Weir, Paul Hartley, Lee McCulloch and Gary Naysmith.
McLeish is also waiting on clearance to include James Morrison in his squad for the first time.
The winger, who has recently joined West Brom from Middlesbrough, has traded England for Scotland, and is waiting for Fifa to ratify his change.
