Skysports.com understands Rangers are closing in on Lens striker Daniel Cousin.
Rangers are thought to have tabled an offer for the towering forward as they continue their rebuilding plans at Ibrox.
Cousin is keen to leave Lens after falling out of favour at the French club last season.
Rangers are keen to bolster their attacking options after Dado Prso left the club in the summer and they see Cousin as an ideal replacement.
Cousin's agent Willie McKay confirmed Rangers had made an offer and that he was hopeful a deal could be concluded to take the 30-year-old to Ibrox.
"Rangers have made an offer for Daniel and we are just waiting to hold talks," McKay told skysports.com.
"Daniel is looking to leave Lens and he is interested in joining Rangers and playing in the Champions League.
"Daniel would be suited to British football as he is a big, strong target man.
"His style of play was not really suited to French football, but he did exceptionally well there and I believe he would thrive in Britain."
