The Czech striker did not feature much during the second half of the last campaign under boss Walter Smith and made just 18 league appearances for the club following his move from Austria Vienna last May.
With several players coming into Ibrox over the summer, including forward Lee McCulloch, competition for places in the starting line-up next year will be fierce but Sionko is keen to prove he is worth calling upon.
"During the summer, seven new players have come in and others will arrive. Competition will be big, on the other hand, some players will leave as well," he told Pravo.
"I have not been thinking about it [staying] most recently. So far I have been with the team at the training centre in Glasgow and we have been improving fitness. We are going to Germany on Tuesday, the regular training starts there.
"I want to fight for a place in the starting line-up. The pre-season is at its start and nobody is thinking about what comes in the future, the atmosphere is alright."
Asked whether or not he had considered leaving Rangers, Sionko replied: "This is a question for my agent Pavel Zika. As far as I know, there is nothing specific lying on the table, so I am preparing myself to stay at Rangers."
